Sanjana looks through the windows to the emergency room as the doctors scramble to save Aditya's life. As she tearfully holds her vigil, we hear a reprise of "Mein Agar Samne" and see some quick flashbacks to happier times. Ajay stands nearby and gives them the latest. He says that Aditya suffered several fractures in his hips and legs, and that if he wakes up in the next two hours, he should be all right. Sanjana asks his straight out if Aditya is going to live or not. Ajay gives her some reassuring information, such as experts from Bombay are on the way, and they'll take over everything when they arrive. Sanjana repeats her question, and Ajay still dodges it by saying that the accident was very serious, so it's hard to say anything at this point. Sanjana repeats herself for a third time, and Ajay can't think of anything reassuring to say. He makes a few nasty grimaces, then walks away to lean his head against the wall.
Sanjana
looks completely despondent. Agni comes over and says that he knows the way to
save Aditya. He seems convinced that if they burn Malini's body before Aditya
stops breathing, it will save him. Agni tells her that once the body is consumed
in the pyre, Malini will have no choice but to accept release and can not harm
Aditya. Since no one else is suggesting anything to do, Sanjana says that this
plan sounds good to her.
Agni, Priya, and Sanjana all pile into Agni's car and head out to the woods again. They make their way to the now all-too-familiar spot where all the nastiness happens. As the women look at each other nervously, Agni prepares a little detection device. He hangs a lemon on a length of string, and tells them that if it turns red, they know they are right over the spot they will need to dig.
The
group then walks slowly through the woods, watching the swinging lemon for any
signs of a change in color. A minute or so goes by when the lemon stops
swinging, and noticeably darkens in color. They all look at each other as if to
say, "this is it!"
We then go into a montage of the doctors working feverishly on repairing Aditya's legs, mixed with shots of the three paranormal investigators digging frantically for Malini's body. Finally they unearth the tarpaulin-covered corpse of Malini, and stop to take a breath. Agni says they should burn it right there where it was found, and goes back to his car to get some gas and matches.
Agni
is seen digging through the trunk of the car. He notices a chill in the air, and
that a very dense fog is rolling in on him. As he looks up, a tree falls on an
overhead power line, causing it to spark and crackle along the ground towards
him. He dives into the car to move it away from the danger, but the wire snaps
up and shatters his windshield. As he looks up in horror, the wire lunches for
him, and wraps itself around his neck. The current from the line surges through
him, and bakes him like a potato.
We go back to the hospital for a few more rotating surgery shots, and we also see that the president of Aditya's company is also on hand with his experts. Not much more to say about that, so let's go back to the woods!
Sanjana
is still standing by the makeshift grave and waiting for Agni. Suddenly her hair
gets another blast of wind, causing her to jump. She and Priya look behind them
to see Agni (!!) walking towards them with a gas can and some matches. He
doesn't look up at them, but they take the materials from his hands and head
over to the corpse. As they turn their backs to him, Agni looks up and reveals
he has Spooky Eyes to let us all know that this isn't the real guy!
The women set about dousing the body with the fuel while we see Evil Agni reaching for the pick-axe they were digging with. He runs over to the women and gives away his element of surprise by screaming like a loon on his approach. He swings for them, but Priya pushes Sanjana out of the way in time. He kicks Priya to the side (hey!) as he wrenches the pick free from the dirt, and introduces "himself" to Sanjana.
