As
Agni is revealing the horrible truth to Sanjana the chandelier in the room
begins to sway in the breeze. They both look up to it, and Agni asks her what's
in the room above them. We cut to the opening of the doors to that room. Agni
asks how long it's been since anyone has been up here, and Sanjana says two
years have passed since it was last used. Agni says it looks as though it's been
occupied more recently than that, and begins to wrap a lemon in a handkerchief
while chanting quietly to himself. He places the bundle in the center of a star
that he's drawn on the floor in colored powder. A candle also rests at each
point of the star.
He steps back to inspect his work, and tells the women that if the lemon hasn't changed colors by sunset, then everything is going to be all right. Otherwise... then he trails off. Sanjana wants to know just what the other option is, so he tells her just to hope that it doesn't turn red by then. We see Sanjana waiting out the day, watching the sun slowly set. Finally the suspense gets to her and she rushes up to the room. She flings the doors open and slowly walks over to the bundle on the floor. She carefully opens the folded cloth, and sure enough that lemon has turned red!
A
jump cut takes us to Sanjana bursting into a large meeting room where Aditya is
sitting with a few other people. (I thought they came on this trip to get away
from work?) She begins making a huge scene in front of all of his business
partners and screams that there is a spirit haunting their house. She continues
wailing and bemoaning the problem as Aditya tries to calm her down while looking
extremely embarrassed.
Sanjana gets a few details out during her rant. She drops the name of Dr. Agni Swaroop, as well as saying that Priya was in on this (much to Ajay's chagrin from the look of it). We jump cut to the school where Agni teaches, and find Aditya beating him up. Aditya accuses Agni of making money off of scaring women, and lying about ghosts. He says that if he catches Agni even looking at his house again, he'll call the police. Agni defiantly tells him to go right ahead and do that since he's not kidding around.
At
the cottage, we see the elder business partner bawling Ajay out over the phone.
He demands to speak to Aditya, but Ajay lies and says he's not there. Elder
Business Guy says that he doesn't want to have his reputation and long tradition
of good business ruined by Aditya's temper and fights.
Ajay hangs up, and tells Aditya that he must return to Bombay soon. The delegation from Hong Kong can stay another day at the most, and they must be dealt with before they go. To miss this meeting would not only cost the company millions, but will also sever all opportunities to deal with them again in the future. Aditya says he's glad this came up since he's fed up with Ooty anyway. He says he'll take the afternoon flight back. As this is being discussed, Priya and Sanjana look on from the cottage with scorn. Sanjana asks Priya for a favor before they go.
We cut to that favor in progress. Priya is at the library, apologizing to Agni for what happened. Agni doesn't want to hear it. Priya says that Sanjana is sincere in her regret, else why would she have sent Priya to apologize? She would have come herself, but she had to leave town immediately. This news causes Agni to stand up and begin ranting at the top of his voice. He says that they will not go anywhere as long as this spirit has unfinished business with them. Priya says that they've already left town. Agni says yes, they might have left, but they will not reach their destination.
As
luck would have it, he's right. The road out of town is completely blocked by a
landslide, and it will take many hours to clear everything up. A dense fog has
also settled in to make matters worse. Our friendly CG bird does a subtle flyby
as Aditya and Sanjana hear this news. We go back to the cottage where Ajay is
trying to calm Aditya down and offer some alternatives to his plight. As they
argue, we see Priya watching Sanjana, who is staring out into the dense mists
that surround the cottage.
The dialog fades out for a little as Sanjana stares, then suddenly it snaps back to normal as Aditya comes over to ask her for a favor. He's decided on a plan to get to the meeting, but it involves driving all night to get to a different airport. She tells him that it's fine, and he should go without her. She says she'll wait here for him. He asks her playfully (and sweetly) to avoid the sleeping pills while he's gone. He says he doesn't want her seeing ghosts again while he's not there.
Satisfied that everything is going to be okay, Aditya gathers his things and heads out, leaving Sanjana there to smile knowingly at Priya.
