The next morning RJ shows up at Bhau's place to get things straightened out. As he pulls up to the gate, he waves at the guard that is standing on the opposite side. As they open the gates, four guards with machine guns jump out only to find that RJ's car is now empty! As they inspect the car, a bomb is discovered on the passenger's seat. They decide that instead of running away from the car, the best plan is actually to push the car away from the heavy stone wall and iron gate. As they do so, we see that RJ was lying on the ground underneath the car. He gets up and smashes through a window, landing in the living room that Bhau and his personal guard are relaxing in.
RJ
casually asks why Bhau sent out the goon squad to receive him. Bhau makes some
threatening suggestions, but RJ is far from intimidated. He instead replies with
some threats of his own, and claims that he has Tech in the custody of some of
his men. They have instructions to kill him if they don't hear otherwise by
11am. As it turns out, it's about that time now. He tells Bhau he will call them
and tell them to wait, since they are about to begin negotiating.
This whole bit is a little confusing. First, we've just met Bhau. All we know of him is that he's the current owner of the casino that RJ's and Tech's money is tied up in. He's also apparently some kind of crime lord, since he has a big house with gates and armed guards and so on. However, they really haven't gone into much detail why Bhau would be in trouble if Tech were to disappear. Sure, it would be an inconvenience to have to fill his spot, but that's not really "in trouble." Oh well. It keeps things moving, so we'll go with it.
RJ
grabs the phone and literally dials a random number. He gets a dairy farmer who
begins telling him the prices of the various types of milk he has for sale. RJ
just starts talking as if he was speaking to the men he had watching Tech were
on the phone. He tells the dairy farmer not to kill Tech until at least 12
unless he hears from him again. The farmer tells RJ that he believes he's crazy
and hangs up.
The bluff works, and Bhau tells his men to get the suitcase containing RJ's money. RJ takes his leave and tells them not to follow him. Bhau is craftier than that! He calls up his old pal Inspector Chewte.
As RJ arrives home, he sees the Pastel Shirt Mafia is hanging out on a wall outside. He spots Chewte and a group of cops trying to clear the road to get up to him. Thinking quickly, RJ kicks the suitcase with the money under his car. He calls the ringleader of the PSM over to him, and tells him to grab the case and put it someplace safe while he deals with the cops.
RJ is reading a magazine in his room when Chewte and his hairy ears make their entrance. The cops begin searching the room while RJ chuckles and makes jokes. Chewte tells the cops to arrest RJ for the crime of looking into his eyes. It seems the laws are pretty damn strict in this part of town.
As they are leading RJ out to the van, he makes some jokes that humiliate Chewte in front of a crowd. Chewte starts hitting RJ with his "Stick of the Law(tm)" but is interrupted by Murli. Murli demands to know if Chewte has a warrant for this arrest. Chewte asks Murli if he wants to go downtown too, but RJ intervenes and spares Murli the trip.
(It
was here that an unfortunate slip in translation made for a hilarious subtitle.
This is what happens when the phrases "He's lost his marbles" and "He's gone
nuts" are tragically crossed.)
RJ further enrages Chewte by saying that Murli was silly for thinking he needed a legal reason to arrest him. He didn't know that senior law enforcement officers such as Chewte had already killed justice and buried it. He tells everyone not to worry, and that he will be back soon. RJ gets one final bald joke in before he is loaded into the van.
