That night the Red Headband Mafia is hanging out on the street in front of the orphanage. They are singing and smoking and having a great time. Unfortunately they don't notice the bus full of guys with clubs approaching until they are already unloading. The mob immediately begins smashing everything it can get its hands on. The RHM members are quickly overwhelmed. Murli hears the disturbance and comes out to see what is going on.

One of the guys in the mob tells him that the land is to be vacated by morning. Murli tells him to show him the official order for that. The roughneck decides to hit him instead. As all the people are fighting, RJ shows up and starts handing everyone their asses. He has a heated discussion with the same man that Murli was talking to (at gunpoint!) and finds out that Tech was the one who ordered this attack.

RJ goes to talk about this with Tech at the casino. Tech tells him that this has nothing to do with RJ. It's simply a real estate arrangement. RJ tells him that land is off limits. Tech tells him that this order comes from Bhau, who was paid a lot of money to clear the people off of that land.

The phone rings, and we get to see who it was that paid Bhau to kick the orphans out. Not that it matters, since we haven't seen him before. Anyway, he's mad that the land has not been cleared. He tells RJ that if he doesn't get that land, he'll bury him along with the inhabitants. RJ asks Tech if there is any way of talking the developer out of this action. Tech says that not even Bhau could persuade him otherwise.

RJ has a plan! The following day, the RHM are keeping an eye on the roads. They alert each other when the developer's car is spotted, and the plan leaps into action. One of them rides a bike in front of the car and allows himself to be hit. He goes down in front of the car, forcing the driver to stop. As the driver is investigating, RJ pulls up on a motorcycle next to the car. He smiles at the developer, then shoots him in the face.

Over at Bhau's, Tech is reading the newspaper story about the assassination. He's furious at RJ for this, since he was the main contact in the construction racket they had going. RJ defends his actions, and the scene abruptly ends again.

Back at the orphanage, Chewte is "investigating" the crime. This is accomplished by beating up a member of the RHM in public in front of over a hundred witnesses. Oh, we also hear the developer's name here. Not that it matters anymore, but he was Mr. Baweja. Anyway, Bela sees what is happening and runs down to try and stop it. She is held in check by the manager of the bar she works at, for fear of her getting her ass kicked as well.

The beating gets worse and worse, until some of the other RHM's run off to get Murli. Murli is able to step in and stop the beating, but a shouting match begins between them. Murli accuses him of beating up innocent people instead of actually trying to find out what happened, and Chewte accuses Murli of exploiting the orphans for his own gains.

While this is going on, the RHM are passing rocks out to all of their ranks. At a silent command, they launch a volley of stones at Chewte. One of them scores a head shot, causing Chewte to order all of the other police on the scene to attack the people standing there. I guess all of the cops are as crooked as he is, since there was no real reason to do this. No matter though, since they all happily start whaling on the onlookers with their sticks. The boys continue their barrage of stones and hit quite a few of the cops.

This whole scene is really really out of control. I've never, ever seen kids treated like this in any other movie. The maternity ward scene in "Hard Boiled" was pretty intense, but this one takes things a step further. By the time things had hit the high gear here, my mouth was hanging open in shock.

A small boy, probably eight or nine years old, lands a hit on Chewte's back with a rock. Chewte turns on him and grabs him. He literally throws the kid through the air. Not a doll, not a stand-in, but you can see he really tossed the kid. Murli is able to catch him before he hits the ground. As that happens, the chubby kid in the RHM nails Chewte in the back of the head with a good sized rock.

This is the last straw for Chewte. He draws his pistol and shoots the kid in the face.

Yep that's right - the fourteen year old kid is shot in the head by a cop. I was stunned. When I saw him go for the gun, I figured one of the adults would jump in and take the bullet. But no - the poor child takes the hit. Un-frikkin-believable.
