Bela finds Murli at the gate to the jail. They weep together for a moment, then she hands Murli a letter. The letter is an apology from RJ to Bela. He tells her that he is sorry that he hit her, but that it was the only way he could get her to go back to Murli. He says that if he had known at the start that she loved Murli, he wouldn't have tried to come between them. He tells her that the Bread Vendor used to tell him that what we don't get in this birth, we get in the next. He asks if he will see her in the next life, then answers his own question with "ram jaane."

Murli holds onto Bela and comforts her as she cries.

The next day, we see Murli leading the children down the steps of the orphanage in their school clothes. It looks like things are more or less back to normal as life goes on. The credits begin over a still shot of the kids and we hear the theme song one more time.
