It was at this point I noticed Chewte's hairy ears. Very strange.
RJ
is very upset that Sameer was killed. He approaches the police, and begins
beating up Chewte. The other cops finally pull him off, and hold him while
Chewte takes a few return shots of his own. He takes RJ back to the same cell he
was in as a child, and repeats a lot of the process from before.
This time, RJ is a little more evenly matched than when he was eight. He repeatedly accuses Chewte of having "soft bones" and that he's not hurting him. This goes on for some time, with the beating getting progressively more savage. Finally Chewte has RJ on the floor and is whipping him with his belt. He calls in the deputies to take him away, and gloats that he beat RJ up so badly. RJ gets a parting shot by spitting in Chewte's face again before being hauled out.
This time, Tech is there to visit him in prison. RJ has a slip and thinks out loud "If Bela sees me like this..." then realizes that he is remembering the last time he was in this place. Tech tells him that he is not able to bail him out since his crime was so bad. RJ tells him that he is aware of that, but his lawyer tells him that if he turns State Witness he can get out in two or three years. Tech asks him not to give them anything on him, in exchange for setting RJ up again once he gets out. He says that he'll watch over RJ's interests while he's away, and make sure no other rivals get in. RJ threatens him not to try any funny stuff, or else he'll turn him "Technicolor."
The term "Technicolor" is used a lot in this movie. Pannu's called that because he wears brightly colored clothes, and his eyes are two different colors. Most of the time though, it's being used to describe bruises. So if I seem to be saying it a lot, that's why.
RJ's lawyer wasn't quite as good as he hoped, and he winds up getting four years.
On the outside, we go back to the town where RJ and Murli grew up. We see the sun rising, and the tenants of an orphanage waking up. A man is walking through the rooms to make sure everyone is up while our next song starts on the soundtrack. The kids, Murli (all grown up now) and Bela (wonderfully grown up now!) all sing along as the kids get ready for their day. This one's a little odd, but kind of fun. Enjoy "Bum Chiki Bum."

As this is winding down, we are introduced to whom I will address as the Pastel Shirt Mafia. There are six or seven older kids from the orphanage that are up to no good. We see them gambling, picking pockets, and inexplicably grabbing the fat one's ass.

The cops come and break up the little gang's nefarious activities and haul them off to the holding cells. Oh, and look who's in charge of our wayward wards - Inspector Chewte.
