The chase goes on for longer than it really needs to, with Romeo looking dashing in his trench coat and fedora. He looks over his shoulder at regular intervals as the dogs hound him (see what I did there?) through the bluest night I've ever seen. Romeo finally leaps a fence and finds himself in front of a concert hall sporting a few banners with his likeness blazoned upon them. He stops to take a breath as the dogs bark on the other side of the fence. We see a (now hairless) Girdharilal waiting outside of the building. Romeo runs up to him, hands him a bag and tells him to "take care of this" before continuing inside. Girdharilal tells him that everything is ready inside. Ready for what, you ask? Our first big musical number, "Romeo Naam Mera."

This of course all makes perfect sense. The songs in this movie are not subtitled, but I do know the name means "My name is Romeo," and he spends most of it flailing about in a confident way, so I'm assuming he's boasting about himself. As he does this, we can see the police are poking their way through the crowd, eyeing our singer with great scrutiny.

Not much seems to come of that though, as we see Romeo having some flashbacks to his long lost friend, Simi. Romeo goes for a drive after the show and forlornly smokes a cigarette. This takes us through a jump cut to a beautiful woman riding an escalator up to our floor. She looks around the room, sees her accomplice, and then her two marks walk through the door at the other side of the room. She steels herself, gets her "game face" on, and begins swishing over towards the men, bringing her purse with her.

With a big display of overacting, she runs into the men and causes them to drop their case, sending it sliding an impressive distance along the floor. It bumps up against an identical case, which will likely come into play in just a moment. Seema (let's use names when we know them!) begins speaking in a very high-pitched voice about how sorry she is for hitting the men. The men on the other hand are not at all upset, and even ask her to do it again.

Seema says that it was all her fault, and goes over to get their case for them. She brings over the one that looks just like it, and gives it to them (after lots of some very impressive wiggly walking). Seema makes her way out of the area as the men compose themselves. They walk off in the opposite direction as Seema's accomplice quickly moves out of his hiding place and grabs the case that was left behind.

We see the two men going into a bar that looks like it was cut out of a cave. Therein waits what I assume is an unsavory business-type guy. He asks them if they've brought the diamonds with them, and they say that they have. They pop open the case to reveal to us and the unsavory business-type guy that an old pair of shoes lies within! Our two suckers don't notice this, and make a big deal about how beautiful and glittery these "diamonds" are.

Unsavory business-type guy believes he is being insulted, and has his henchman slap them around with the shoes.

We cut to Seema's place where her pal is gleefully looking over the spoils of their little caper. Ah, his name is Pinto, and his is Seema's fence. She seems bored with the idea of selling the diamonds and getting her money, so Pinto asks her why she's in such a dangerous business.

Seema does one of those dramatic pauses and asks Pinto if he wants to find a drunkard, where should he look? Pinto replies that he'd look in a tavern. She then asks where one might find a gambler. He replies, "in a gambling house." She then says that she's looking for a diamond smuggler.

This answer confuses Pinto, and he asks to know who it is that she's looking for in particular. She says she doesn't know for certain. He seems amused by this, and asks her why she's looking for this person when she doesn't know who he is.

Seema does another dramatic pause (complete with thunderclap) and has a flashback to herself as a child, holding her father's head as he lies bleeding on the floor of his office. When she comes back to the present, she says the "why" will only be told to this mystery man, once she finally tracks him down.

With that, let's go check on that mystery man now!
