Antara
tells Shaukat that this is reality. She reminds him that Yash is a real man, who
is young and attractive. She wants to know why it doesn't make a difference to
him if she's out on dates with Yash. What if something were to happen, such as
them falling in love? Shaukat doesn't reply, causing Antara to curse and walk
away.
Shaukat's eyes well up with tears, and he steps back out into the rain. He composes himself, then turns to look back at Antara who is lingering in the doorway. He thinks to himself in the Author Shaukat voice that fantasy and reality are all the same now, and he wants to see what happens next. He gives Antara the creepiest smile yet, and the music builds to a pounding crescendo.
I'm guessing that was the intermission cut, since we're now rejoining Shaukat and Antara as they relax in the yard. Author Shaukat thinks to himself that Antara need not be afraid, he will decide everything that happens from now on. Antara breaks the silence by asking if Shaukat wants to go out today. Shaukat asks if she is trying to run away from Yash. She asks if that would be the wrong thing to do, then berates herself for losing track of time the previous night.
Shaukat
tells her the fact that she didn't remember to come home on time doesn't hurt
him. What would cause him pain is if she came home because of her
responsibilities, her conscience, and her marital status. Here is unfortunately
where those subtitle problems I mentioned started to interfere. He says another
few sentences to her, but my Hindi isn't good enough to tell what he said. At
any rate, her reaction is to sit in silence and avoid Shaukat's gaze. He tells
her that they aren't going anywhere - she isn't running away.
Antara laments that Yash came into their lives, but Shaukat tells her that it was inevitable. He starts making some odd and seemly disjointed comments on the situation, including that he's amused that people would say he didn't understand reality, and that he has "mind power." He tells her that she is the most precious thing ever. She asks if she's more precious than his books, but he tells her that is what he can't decide. All he knows is that he loves her dearly. At this moment, the rain kicks in again. In a moment of inspiration, Shaukat takes this opportunity to go for a drive to the same cliff that Antara went to with Yash.
Shaukat
drags her out of the car and walks to the edge of the cliff, noticing that the
rain has stopped. He assumes a powerful stance and begins to shout at the sky.
He tells the heavens that Antara belongs to him only, and that no one else may
touch her. He asks God if he thinks he has the rights to do anything with
Antara. Shaukat declares that he is the one who stopped the rain, and that he
will decide whatever happens in their lives from now on. He shouts that he will
tell God when to make it rain, and asks if He understands. He then turns to
Antara and tells her to scream out and let God know that she is there.
As you might imagine, Antara is pretty worried about now. She doesn't scream out like Shaukat wants, and instead struggles slightly at his grip on her arm. Shaukat turns back to ranting at God. He tells Him that we all live by God's will, but they are all puppets. He says that he holds some of the strings, and that he can do anything and make anyone else do anything. He then declares that he's got the joy of writing back, but the rest of his thought is lost to the faulty subtitles.
Shaukat
turns back to Antara, and tells her that she looks so pretty, but she doesn't
seem to belong to him. He begins to demand that she smile for him, but she's too
freaked out to manage one. Eventually we give up, and slip back into Book
Vision.
Back in the office, Shaukat begins talking to himself again. He decides that since he's calling all the shots in his story, and his story is inseparable from reality, then he can write himself into things and affect the outcome. He greets himself and introduces himself to himself (really), and tells himself that it was only natural for the husband to enter the story at this point. He decides that Antara should be stopped.
