We
see Shaukat going through phone listings and a personal organizer. He places a
call to the college and informs them that Antara won't be able to make it into
work today, then sits back down and types for a while. Time passes, and we can
hear Antara calling out for Rajni. She wants to know why she wasn't awakened on
time to go to work today. Shaukat steps in to explain that he called in to the
school to get her the day off. She tells him that she's going in anyway, even
though she's late.
Shaukat tells her that he knew she would do that. She stomps off in frustration to get ready while Shaukat goes back to writing. Author Shaukat begins listing off the things that he said would happen that really did, such as them not going to the play, and Antara going to school despite the fact that she is late and was given the day off anyway. He wonders what he will have Antara do today, then decides that he will keep her quiet. He knows that Yash won't be able to stand her silence.
Sure enough, Yash tries to intercept Antara on her way to class. She shrugs him off and doesn't answer his questions, then marches off to her lecture. He catches up to her later, and corners her. He asks her for a smile (which she does not give) and then to meet after classes are over for the day. She doesn't say anything, and manages to get away from him.
Shaukat
is on the porch to have his tea. Rajni comes out and asks about dinner for the
night. Shaukat tells her that Antara will be late tonight. Rajni is impressed
that Shaukat is able to read Antara's mind like that, and is pleased that it
"saves words." She leaves him on the porch, where he seems to be upset.
Shaukat tells himself that he will write Antara's fate, but he asks that she prove him wrong. He doesn't want her to go.
After class, we see Yash and Antara taking a walk along a large stone wall. He asks her what happened to her today, and if she is upset because of him. She says that yes she is, but it wasn't something he did. He thinks it is because of the age difference, but that doesn't matter to him - he loves her anyway. He tells her that if she loves him too, then he will rejoice. If she does not, he will resort to memories. Antara stops walking along with him, and gives him an agonized look.
We
break from the action to check in on Shaukat, who is advising BV Yash to not get
involved in Antara's complications. Unfortunately real life Yash doesn't give up
so easily. He tells Antara that he will remove her doubts, and hops up onto the
railing of the lighthouse they've ended up near (the same one we've seen a few
times in Book Vision). He screams out at the top of his lungs that he wants to
marry Antara. He gets down on one knee and proposes formally to a stunned
Antara.
After some awkwardly one-sided conversation, Yash reveals that he wasn't serious. Antara looks relieved, but then he asks what her answer would have been, causing her to look terrified again. Yash gets to giggling and rests his head on his arms while Antara looks more tormented than we have ever seen her before.
Over in Shaukat's office, he places another call to the reclusive Mrs. Bose to tell her that his new book is almost finished. She actually takes his call this time, and seems halfway interested in reading it this time. She tells him to send it over, and ends the call. He muses to himself that he has staked his most precious thing on this book, so it has to be the best.
Later
on, Shaukat and Antara are chatting outside while Shaukat snips up more
headlines. She remarks that he seems preoccupied and wonders what's wrong. He
tells her that he's stuck at the climax of his story. She asks if she's able to
help, but he tells her that she's been helping all along. She looks a little
worried about that, but tries to shrug it off. He tells her that she has been
his inspiration, and would like to take her out to dinner. He asks for one hour
before they go, to see if he can come up with something.
Antara goes off to the closet to pick out something to wear to dinner. Author Shaukat begins deciding what she'll select. He decides that she'll wear red, as it is a powerful, passionate color. Antara notices a box in her closet with a card attached, saying that she should forget the past, and "gather the present." She cradles the box affectionately, then sets it on the bed.
