Antara is seated by Mrs. Kapadia who is complaining that there is so little discipline and respect among the young people these days. As she is saying this, Yash comes up behind them and barges between them to sit next to Antara. He makes a point to attempt a handshake with another professor at the table, revealing that he has his left forearm in a plaster cast. His handshake is refused since he is injured, but Yash explains that his wound healed long ago. He just became fond of the cast and never got around to having it removed.

Yash suggests that he and Antara share - she should share her lunch, and he will share his jokes. Doesn't seem quite equitable to me, nor Antara from the look on her face. Yash can tell things seem a little awkward, so he begins to tell his jokes. Eventually he gets the table chuckling, including Antara.

Back at the house, Shaukat is trying to cut some more headlines from some magazines. In the background we see Rajni happily (and noisily) chopping some vegetables. Shaukat gets annoyed by the distractions, and finally decides to talk to her. He asks her how she first met Ramakant. Rajni seems defensive at first, but eventually tells her story. The details aren't that important, but what is humorous is how Ramakant tries to shut her up the entire time she's talking. After she's done, she refers to Shaukat as "Senior Master," which confuses him. He asks why she'd call him that, and she says it is because she assumes "Junior Master" is on the way. This makes Shaukat angry and he storms out of the kitchen. Ramakant tells Rajni that she talks too much, but she doesn't understand what she did wrong.

Back at the college, Yash is being accosted by a pack of youngsters. One in particular is gushing about how she wants to take his class, and would like to meet with him to show off her work. Yash hastily agrees to get away from them, leaving them all giggling and blushing. We then see why Yash was in such a hurry. He chases Antara down a flight of steps and tries to get her started with some small talk. She seems bored, so he asks her for a smile like the one she gave him at lunch. She tells him there's nothing to smile about at the moment, but then the fortuitous arrival of a somewhat dorky looking classmate sets up another joke for Yash, and he gets the smile he was after.

Yash looks at her a little too long, and she notices him staring at her. He thanks her and heads off up the stairs doing an assortment of victory gestures. Antara rolls her eyes and walks off. Yash tells himself that he's fallen in love, and does what is to become a somewhat annoying habit. He makes a little "click-click" noise to imitate a camera, as he takes "mental pictures" of Antara smiling.

Back at home Antara fiddles with the CD player and tells Shaukat about Yash. She talks about him quite a lot, how he tried to make her laugh and called her name from across long distances to get her attention. She describes him as being "insolent," but Shaukat suggests that he is actually smitten with her. She dismisses that idea as preposterous, but Shaukat asks how was Yash supposed to know that she is married? She doesn't wear a ring or a mangalsutra, and her marital status did not come up in conversation. She says that she will set him straight the next day, but Shaukat suggest that instead of doing that, she should become friends with Yash.
