Still
unaware of the motion behind her, Malini feels no compulsion to go anywhere just
yet. The Joker moves from behind the table and silently creeps closer to Malini.
When he is an arms reach away, Malini gets that "I'm being watched" sensation,
and slowly turns around. As she realizes the strangeness of what she's seeing,
the Joker raises his right arm to reveal a knife. He quickly slashes it across
Malini's abdomen, inflicting an impressive wound and sending her sprawling to
the floor. Malini tries to get her footing and stumbles away from her attacker.
She manages to get outside to the pool area where she collapses in a heap on the edge of the pool. She tries to get up again, but she is exhausted and beginning to feel faint from her injuries. She feels herself being flipped over with her legs by the Joker, and she starts screaming and crying. The Joker raises his index finger to his mask's lips, and gives her a quiet "Sssshhh..." to calm her down.
He
then bends over and lifts her to her feet. He pulls back his right arm, and
slams the blade of his knife into her midsection with enough force to come out
of her back. Malini gasps and her eyes glaze over. The Joker plants his palm
over her face, and shoves her backwards into the water. As Malini's body floats
in the rapidly darkening water, the Joker calmly struts away.
All this in the first seven minutes!
This scene cuts to the proper opening credits sequence, which also serves as a musical number, "Kab Mera Hale Dil." It's a little abstract, with several white robed figures all parading around a single black robed figure as he poses and looks menacing. We also get our first look at our heroine, Mahek.

Once the credits are complete, a title card comes up to let us know that six months have passed since the incident at the health club. A view of a busy street in Anytown eventually closes in on one woman in particular as she goes into a general store. Upon closer inspection, this is Mahek. She picks up some art supplies before finding herself in the sports equipment area. She pauses while looking at a squash racquet and has a brief flashback.
In
the flashback we see Malini alive and happily stab-wound free, looking at
the new squash racquet that her younger sister has given her for her
birthday. They have a few moments of bonding before they are interrupted by
their mother. Everyone seems all happy and close, before we cut back to
Mahek looking very sad again.
She turns and is mildly startled to see a policeman standing next to her. She greets him as Uncle Kamat, so I think it's safe to say these two have met. She asks him if there's been any progress on the case involving her sister's death, but he dejectedly replies that there is no news to report. He does warn her that often these serial killer types will lay low for a while after they strike to let things cool off a bit. He cautions her to look after herself, then bids her goodbye.
