Unfortunately things are not quite resolved in this little attack. The Joker starts pounding holes in the door keeping him from Mahek. He is able to see her through one of the holes, and the sight of her spurs him to continue his assault on the door. Cut to the police station where the phone is heard ringing on the desk. Inspector Kamat (doesn't he ever get a day off?) picks up the phone and listens to Mahek screaming for help. She is able to blurt out who she is and where she is, and Kamat rushes out with his partner (aha! Got a name! Rathore!) to save her. Mahek takes the time to call her mother as well, but doesn't get out many details. As soon as she is connected, the Joker finally breaks the door down and pops into the room. Taking a quick look around, he sees that Mahek has managed to somehow elude him.

The Joker takes a survey of the room and sees no one. Mom can still be heard on the phone yelling questions along the lines of "what happened," "who are you talking about," and the ever popular, "what's going on?" The Joker hangs up the phone, then hurls it into the wall nearby. He thinks he hears something when it lands, so he begins stalking towards a large wardrobe. As he does this, we see Mahek come out of hiding in another part of the room, and she attempts to make a stealthy getaway. Unfortunately she bumps a hanging chime with her head, and gives away her position. The Joker turns towards the sound, and Mahek bolts from the room.

The Joker catches up to her in the dining room, where Mahek begins throwing various containers and serving utensils across the room at him, with quite a few objects connecting. Things look to be going well for Mahek until the Joker decides to kick the dining room table in Mahek's direction, hitting her in the legs and folding her in half.

After being stunned for a moment, Mahek thinks this whole "table as a weapon" idea is great, and returns the favor. Summoning up her strength with a mighty warrior cry, she shoves the table back at the Joker, and runs behind it at full speed. This jams the table into the Joker's... area, and also causes his cloak to make contact with a fireplace that has some logs merrily burning away. This in turn ignites the cloak, causing the Joker to quickly free himself and make a frantic leap out of the nearby window. We see him run off into the night with his cloak in flames as Mahek tries to catch her breath in the dining room.

In all seriousness, Mahek does a fantastic job in fighting with this killer. She's scared, but she doesn't really panic or lose her senses in all the excitement. I was very impressed and pleased that she didn't just crumple into a ball as so many other horror movie victims do. She fought back, and won!

She doesn't get much of a respite. She hears a noise outside, and still riding the adrenaline rush, she darts to the front door and flings the doors open. Outside, she sees Suraj coming up to the house. She runs into him and buries her face in his sweater. He repeatedly asks her what happened, but she is unable to speak yet. Mahek draws back a pace, and notices the watch on Suraj's arm. It looks an awful lot like the one she saw on the killer's wrist not more than a few moments ago. With a suspicious look and great trepidation, she walks backwards away from Suraj, and still refuses to speak. Fortunately the police arrive seconds later, and Mahek points at Suraj to indicate her attacker.

As one might expect, Suraj is not happy with this little accusation. He repeatedly denies doing anything wrong, and begs with Mahek to explain what's happening. Rathore comes over from the shadows and holds out the charred cloak and mask that he found nearby, and it looks mighty grim for old Suraj. Mom also turns up just in time to get a real good impression of Suraj, then goes to tend to her weeping daughter. The cops are tired of listening to Suraj rant about how he's sooooo innocent, so they haul him off to jail.

The rest of the night passes uneventfully. We rejoin the narrative by checking in with Suraj in prison. He looks unhappy, so everything's in order there. Next stop is Rocky's place. Rocky screams "party time!" into the phone, and tells Mom that he's having a party and Mahek must attend.

Mom says that Mahek isn't really feeling much like a party these days, but she'll see what she can do. She promises to tell Mahek she'll go. Mahek and Gehna are sitting nearby and overhear the conversation. Mahek voices her intention of not going to the party, but Mom says Rocky's been calling all day (eight times!) and she had to promise him so that he'll quit hassling them. Gehna gets into the act and says that she'll be bored there without Mahek, and forces her to get up and go get changed for the big night.

Why waste time? Let's go to the party now. An establishing shot of Rocky's (typically) palatial house shows us that the party is in full swing.
