After a few minutes of silence, Rocky announces that they need to get off of this island right away. Suraj immediately hops up and says that he knows it is dangerous here on land, but it's high tide out on the sea, very dark, and they're not super clear on the way back. Rhea asks to no one in particular how the killer could have survived. Mahek begs Suraj to take her away from the island, but he won't agree to that plan. He tells everyone that they'll all stay together the rest of the night, out in the open on the beach. They pass the hours by staring out into the water at the boat that will soon take them all to safety.
Night
becomes day (as it often does!) and we see that the kids eventually fell asleep.
Rocky is the first one awake, and he quickly rouses the others. They all notice
pretty quickly that the boat they were all staring at is no longer within sight.
In a panic, they run up and down the shore and see nothing, until Suraj notices
the tie line for the anchor floating nearby. He chases the line to the end, and
finds that the odds of the boat being nearby are slim.
Rocky takes this opportunity for an "I told you so," and reminds them that he wanted to leave last night, when they still had a boat and a captain and all of that nice stuff. Everyone begins to despair, and no one has any idea of what to do next. Suddenly a plane is heard overhead, so they get the idea to spell out "HELP" with logs on the beach.
This
goes on while some exciting "spelling on the beach" music plays on the
soundtrack. More specifically, Rhea, Mahek, Nikhil, and Suraj spell it out.
Rocky is mostly submerged off-shore watching all of the action. Some time
passes, and everyone is just sitting around waiting for salvation to arrive.
Rocky comes over and makes some gestures like he's measuring something. When
asked what he's up to, he says he's designing the runway for the plane that's
coming to save them all. He then mockingly starts
making plane noises and running around on the beach with his arms
outstretched.
When he's done with that, he puts a shirt on and joins the others. He says that sitting idly around waiting isn't going to get them anywhere. Nikhil tells him that he just needs a little patience (he's been writing songs for Guns 'n' Roses it would seem) but Rocky cuts him off mid-sentence. He says that he's been patient since last night, and look where that got them. He doesn't think help is on the way, and nobody knows where they are. He has an idea.
Some transition time shows us that the team has dismantled the "HELP" sign
and has instead fashioned them into a raft. With a loud declaration from Nikhil
to anyone still on the island that they will never return, they shove off into
the sea, propelling themselves with poles as the women huddle together. The raft
looks a little unreliable, as water is already over the surface of it by a few
inches, but they do make some progress.
Out in the deep blue water we see some wordless shots to let us know that tensions are still high among the survivors. Mahek looks lovingly at Suraj with a bit of "my hero!" mixed in, then notices Rocky looking at her looking at Suraj, so she looks at him with a pained expression. (Did that sentence make any sense at all?) Meanwhile the uncomplicated Rhea/Nikhil pair look at each other and they seem pretty pleased with what they see.
After
everyone is done looking at each other, the sound of wood straining against rope
lets us know that the raft has had enough of this nonsense, and is out of here.
The two major sections of the raft drift apart, and everyone falls off into the
water. Rocky and Suraj surface, and hold onto one piece of the raft, and Mahek
turns up on the other. Nikhil's head appears above water and starts calling for
Rhea. She's nowhere to be seen, and it is soon revealed that she's not a
swimmer. Rhea flails around underwater as the others search frantically for her.
Nikhil and the other guys start diving into the water (and please pay no
attention to the fabric that is hung on all the walls in the pool that they are
pretending is the ocean. It spoils the illusion if you see all of the folds and
creases.) and looking for her beneath the surface. Unfortunately,
a familiar
knife makes its way into the shot, then the neck, of Rhea before the guys can
get to her.
