Realization hits Mahek like a ton of bricks. She shrinks back a pace or two,
and Suraj nods gently. He tells her that he's sorry to say it, but he is the
Joker that's been causing her all of her troubles. He tells her that life has
made a mockery of him, but she's going to be the one to pay for it. He fires the
gun into the ceiling and the sound spooks Mahek. She darts out of the house and
onto the beach. She steps over the prone but still breathing (and he should be,
he's not dead yet, no like Nikhil the Breathing Corpse from earlier!) form of
Rocky, but doesn't have the time to check on him. Suraj is in hot pursuit as
Mahek races along the sand.
Mahek
does the smart thing and runs into the water (*sigh*) and falls down. Suraj
leaps on top of her and pins her arms to the ground. He tells her to remember
what she told him about her father. He then elaborates, and says that while her
father's immoral ways spoiled her family, he also took out another one along the
way. Suraj says that he had a small happy family - himself, his mom and dad, and
his younger brother. Things were going fine for them, until Mahek's father
turned his evil gaze onto his mother. He forced himself on Suraj's mother, and
she killed herself because of the trauma.
Suraj starts jamming Mahek's shoulders against the ground as he repeats that
her father stole his family's happiness. He rears up in anguish over the memory,
and Mahek is able to get away from him. As Suraj writhes on the sand wailing
loudly, Mahek makes for the tree line at top speed.
She
pauses for a moment in the shade of a tree to catch her breath and collect
herself, when suddenly Suraj is upon her again. He comes around from behind the
tree and grabs her arm, and brandishes his gun. He tells her that the gun
belonged to his father (oops, so it didn't belong to the cops. Sorry about that
before) who used it eight months after his mother died. He specifically used it
by putting the barrel in his mouth and blowing his own head off. Suraj
punctuates this idea by firing a shot into the air. As if he wasn't already
completely demolishing his "nice guy" image, he then slaps Mahek hard in the
face.
Suraj tells Mahek he didn't sleep through the night after that for years, as
the sobs of his little brother wouldn't let him. He then throws Mahek to the
ground, stomps on her back, and begins dragging her along the forest floor by
her wrist. He tells her that listening to one's younger brother like that every
night doesn't just keep you awake, it also drives you crazy. He decided that he
would make the family of the man that destroyed his life suffer the way he did.
Suraj takes some ropes that he must have prepared beforehand and lashes
Mahek's feet together. He then pulls on the ropes to suspend her in the air as
she dangles from a tree. He continues telling her how he faked the accident that
killed her father, and it was intentional. He then went on to wipe out the rest
of her family - her sister, then her mother. Now it's Mahek's turn. He fires a
shot near her which gets her screaming all the louder, but he misses
intentionally. Suraj just doesn't know when to shut up, so he tells her that he
killed all of the others to cover his tracks. When he killed Rathore, he dressed
him in the Joker outfit and faked the attack on Mahek so that it would look like
the Joker had finally been killed.
He
tells her that there's one last little surprise for her to know. He reminds her
that he saved her at the river from the Joker's attack. If he (Suraj) was the
Joker for all of those other times, then what was going on there? He gives her a
shove, sending her swinging through the trees until she is caught... by someone
else wearing the Joker outfit! She sees this and shrieks in their face. Suraj
tells her that he does have a little brother, remember? Joker 2 pulls off his
mask, and we see that it's Rajat underneath! Rajat gives Mahek a good push, and
the rope is released, sending her tumbling to the ground.
The brothers embrace each other and say they're happy to see each other.
Mahek is of course confused by this, so the brothers happily explain. Rajat says
that when Suraj attacked him, he used a prop knife that squirts blood when a
button is pushed. He then lurked on the island, eventually killing Rhea and
Nikhil. Rajat points out that Mahek is still alive, and they really need to do
something about that.
Suraj
says that he needs just a couple more minutes, and then he'll kill her. Rajat
says he wants to do it, but Suraj says he's been waiting for years to wrap this
up. The brothers argue for a bit about this as Mahek looks on in horror. They
decide that they'll flip a coin. Rajat calls tails, but the coin comes up heads.
Rajat calls foul, and says that it's a double-headed coin. In fact, it's the
same one he used to make sure they came to the island after getting kicked out
of the hotel (seems like a long time ago, doesn't it?). Suraj says that it's
okay, Rajat can have the honors. Rajat pushes the Joker mask to the back of his
head and gets ready, while Suraj leans against a tree to watch the show.
Suddenly he is hit in the head with a baseball bat! Looks like while he was
wounded, Rocky is not down for the count.
