Since
Jagmo has warmed up to the idea of having Mansi in the family, he does his duty
to go and see Tara. We find Tara and Prabha at home. They hear the doorman
arguing with a familiar voice who is demanding admittance. Jagmo barges past the
doorman and stands before Tara who looks a little surprised to see him. The
doorman tries to explain what happened, but Tara sends him away, and makes a
little bit of a show as he announces that Jagmo is their guest.
Tara regards Jagmo with a "well well well!" expression. He explains that today is the day they perform a puja to Mother Saraswati. Tara mockingly asks Jagmo if he knows who that is. Jagmo knows he's screwed up in the past, and asks that Tara go easy on him. He tells Tara that he has come to admit his mistake, and to ask for Mansi's hand for Manav. At this request, Tara reacts like he's been punched in the stomach. He asks if Jagmo knows how much his behavior had hurt Mansi, and how much she had wept over the loss of Manav. If that wasn't bad enough, she's already engaged to someone else.
Jagmo
is shocked to hear this. Tara tells him that she has gone to Canada with Vik and
they are to be wed upon their return. We get a few cuts to pictures of Master
Jash looking thoughtful (well, as thoughtful as he can look) as Jagmo
sinks to the couch with a defeated look on his face.
We jump cut to Canada where Mansi is getting ready to perform at the SkyDome. Prabha is there giving her a pep talk as Mansi does her makeup. Banerjee is reading the paper and notices a bit about Manav being injured in the fire. He asks Vik if he's seen it, but Vik just tells him to get back to work. Ila, one of Mansi's sisters, also has the paper and reads a snip from the article. Specifically, she mentions that Manav was injured by going into the fire to save a scarf given to him by his beloved. However, no one knows who that beloved person is. Mansi gets irritated and asks why she keeps telling her the same thing over and over.
Mansi
reminds Ila that she is engaged. Never one to miss out on hassling Mansi, her
other sister Shannu butts in and asks if the fact that she is engaged just
closes all the other chapters of her life. They comment on how this life of hers
has turned her heart to stone, and that she should at least make a phone call to
see if he's all right. They are interrupted by the stagehand who comes to get
them ready. Mansi goes to the wardrobe to get her costume and takes the paper
with her. She sees the dramatically shot picture of Manav dashing from the house
in flames while cradling her scarf, and she begins to cry.
Vik
snaps his fingers at her and asks if she is ready. He sees that she's still in
her dressing gown and asks what's up. He tells her the orchestra is ready and
it's showtime. He asks if she's been crying, and if she misses Manav. Mansi
looks peeved at this comment, and he claims he was only joking. He tells her
that he loves her and knows she loves him too. She half-heartedly nods at him
and he offers to share his Coke with her (again with the Coke ... sheesh). He
literally tells her she should drink it since Coke is their sponsor! As he takes
a few pulls from the bottle we hear "Ishq Bina" playing again as Mansi looks
pained.
