Brownie and Manav have a grand time running through the hills near the house, but stop short before toppling over the edge of a very steep embankment. Taking a moment to collect himself after the near-miss, Manav notices the impressive scenery on display. He gets out his new camera and begins taking snapshots of the hills and valleys, including some nice shots of the setting sun.

That night Manav is looking over his pictures on his laptop. As he does so, we can overhear some of the businessmen discussing the Big Project. One of them mentions that they would need to get Tara's permission to use the land for development. Manav rolls his eyes as the guys drone on about work, then he notices something in one of his pictures. He's managed to capture the silhouette of a young woman standing on the top of a hill. He zooms in on the picture and decides that he's going to meet this person.

We cut from Manav's desk to Tara's place where we see a lesson on drums is being held. This also gives us our next musical number, "Dil Ye Bechain."

One minor technical gripe here. Whoever operated the rain machine for this scene needs to be fired. Sometimes the "rain" is only coming down on half the shot, or is clearly well in front of the actors. The fact that it's nice and sunny in some of the shots doesn't help maintain the illusion of a torrential downpour either.

During the course of events of this song Manav manages to catch Mansi's eye, and they share several "significant glances" as they each take a verse or two. As Manav is preparing to leave the area, he stops to take a couple more pictures. He isn't paying attention to what he's doing and slips, barely catching himself on a tree. He dangles precariously over a several hundred foot drop. A rope falls from above and a voice tells him to tie it around his waist. He manages to do this and the people at the top of the hill begin to drag him up. As he reaches the top, Mansi leans over and extends her hand to help him up. In his excitement, he loses his footing and pulls her over the edge with him. The rope prevents them from going too far, and Manav makes light of the situation. He introduces himself, and asks to take her picture. This is while they're hanging over the ledge, mind you. Mansi gives him an odd distressed look but he takes the picture anyway.

The rest of the day is spent with Mansi trying to run her errands around town while Manav follows from a not-so-discrete distance attempting to take more pictures of her. One minor plot point happens during this sequence when Manav drops a bright red scarf he had with him. After changing hands a few times, Mansi comes into possession of it. This will be important later, so remember that.

That night we see Manav at home looking at the picture he took of Mansi while they were hanging over the cliff. He hears angry voices outside and goes to have a look. Tara has stopped by to tell the family of the shameful behavior Manav demonstrated that day. The family apologizes to him and invites him to stay a while, but he refuses and heads home. Apparently feeling guilty about the way he acted, Manav goes to visit Tara at his school the next day.

Manav makes a good impression (finally) and apologizes to Tara for the previous day. He offers to give Tara the floppy disk that the pictures were stored on, but he doesn't understand what it is, and tells him not to worry about it.

While all this is going on, Mansi is watching quietly from the balcony. As Manav heads out, she watches him go with a wistful look. We go back to the Mehta's place where Jagmo is getting the story from his brother, Deep. Deep says that he has an idea that will definitely smooth everything over, and asks to be taken to the school the next day.
