Back at Prabha's place, Prabha is changing her clothes while explaining some things to Mansi and Tara. She says that she knew they would be treated poorly - but they had to see this for themselves. Mansi muses that it's probably better that it happened as quickly as it did, before anyone could get too entrenched. Prabha agrees with her, and tries to put a positive spin on things. Prabha's googly-eye'd kid comes in with a business card he found. She reads that it is for "Vikrant Entertainment," and she asks where he found it. Tara explains that it is his. They talked to the man in the red coat earlier and he gave it to him. He had heard Tara's radio broadcasts and loved his sounds. Prabha is amused that Tara doesn't know who he was talking to. She shows him a big article on him - he is Vikrant Kapoor, a huge figure in television. Tara doesn't seem interested in going to meet with him since he ripped off his song. Prabha is adamant that they go, and he finally relents.

As they arrive at the studio, a rehearsal is in progress. We hear some cool music as the orchestra plays, then the backup dancers start doing some moves. Prabha, Mansi, and Tara look on while they finish their number.

Up in Vikrant's office they get down to business. Vik tells him that they hear all these wonderful folk songs on the radio, then sample them and remix them to make the current hits. They get a glimpse of how he does business as well. A call comes in from an associate, and Vik is very cheerful and pleasant towards him. When the call is over, he tells his secretary that if that "scoundrel" ever calls again she is to tell him he's not there.

Vik notices the looks on their faces. He says they must think he's quite a fraud, but he explains that's how they do business in entertainment. They speak with love to their enemies and fight with their friends. He takes an interest in Mansi (who wouldn't?) and asks if she can sing and dance. Tara proudly states that she can. After some business talk, Vik finally comes right out and tells Tara that he wants him to work for his company. Tara will write the songs, and Mansi will perform them. They will have a new life in the city. Tara looks a little overwhelmed, and asks for a couple of days to think it over.

Back at Prabha's place, Mansi sits in a chair with a stony expression while Prabha tells her she should do this. All she has to look forward to back in Chamba is school debts, being forced into marriage, and living poor for the rest of her life. With that kind of pep talk, Mansi decides to accept Vik's offer.

We cut to Vik's office. Vik tells them a little bit about his past. His father left his mother when he was very young. She raised him and taught him what he needed to know in order to be a good person. She had three rules: "Do good and forget about it, do your duty and don't expect rewards, and true love lies in sacrifice." He says he is thankful for those lessons, but all they did was leave him poor and hungry. Then he met a businessman who gave him the seven rules to live by to be a successful businessman in the 21st century.

I'll cover these in detail, since they're both depressing and frighteningly accurate.
