Jai tells Karan that he would lay down his life for their friendship, but asks him not to preach about the glories of the law. That's the one thing that can upset him. Karan tells him that he won't get such speeches from him, as the law has hurt him too. Since we are all very familiar with Karan's problems in this arena, we just cut away to the next scene instead of having another flashback.
Over
at Renu's place we see Bhujang (!), Goga, and Ranga strutting in looking suave.
They greet Papa Renu (I'll get a name one of these days) and seem to be
well-acquainted. Since it's time to talk business, Papa Renu tells Renu to get
out of the swimming pool and go indoors. She complies, and suffers the overt
leering of Goga and Ranga when she passes them.
For the next minute of film, there were mysteriously no subtitles. I can tell you I heard the word "commissioner" and a weird ominous moment from the orchestra, but other than that I don't know what the guys were talking about. I guess it's so secret, they couldn't even put it in the subtitles.
Well since that scene was lost on me, let's just move on to the next one! We cut to Commissioner Mathur's house (aha! Told you I heard that!) where the matriarch of the family is freaking out. It seems that Divya is missing, and none of her friends knows where she is. The Commissioner is on the phone to headquarters and orders all the usual stuff for a missing person. He tries to calm down his wife, but she's too wound up. The phone rings, and Mathur picks it up. Bhujang is on the other end, and we see that he's got Divya!
Mathur
asks for Bhujang's name, but he doesn't tell him. Bhujang says he's got a
proposition for Mathur, and has his daughter in his custody to make sure Mathur
is open-minded during the negotiations. As this is going on, Ravi comes into the
room and lifts another receiver to eavesdrop on the call. Bhujang tells them
that he wants Mathur to go to the prison and release Raghav, and to take him
where he indicates he needs to go. If he fails to comply, he will "ill treat"
Divya.
Mathur tells him that he will see to it that Raghav is... hanged! He goes on to say that his devotion to his duty as a cop means more to him than the lives of his family, and he won't do what Bhujang has asked. With this declaration, he then hangs up the phone. Mrs. Mathur asks him what that was all about, and says that if he's done something to jeopardize the life of Divya, she'll kill herself. Not wanting to be a part of this happy scene, Ravi storms out of the room without saying anything.
We go to the prison where we see Raghav working in the yard with the rest of the prisoners. Some guards are overheard telling each other all the stuff we already know about Divya, so we're just treading water here! With another twang on the soundtrack, we see a helicopter flying low over the yard. The guards in the towers and all of the inmates look up to see Ravi leaning out of the cockpit with a revolver. He starts shooting at the guards, and hits each of them with one shot each. With a pistol. From a moving helicopter. He never misses. I'm telling you, Ravi has missed his calling.
The
chopper lands in the yard, and Ravi starts shouting into a megaphone for Raghav.
He says that he's here to break him out, and that he is here at his brother's
request. Raghav comes out of the outhouse and hears the ruckus. He lets out a
surprisingly clear and audible "Yeah!" for a mute man, then runs out to the
chopper. Interestingly enough, none of the other inmates claims to be Raghav to
escape. Ravi wouldn't know the difference, as he's not seen Raghav before. They
must be on the honor system. After a lot of shoving and shouting, Raghav finally
gets onto the copter and they take off.
We find ourselves at Bhujang's mansion where Raghav is welcomed warmly. Divya can see this taking place and is both alarmed and pleased to see Ravi. Bhujang thinks it odd that Commissioner Mathur's son would be there to help him, but he's not complaining. As promised, Divya is released from her cell and she rushes over to her brother.
Ravi
tells them all that if he was good enough to break into prison and get away, he
could also easily take down this whole mansion, so they'd better not try
anything funny. Bhujang lets him know that since he's now an enemy of the cops
and has helped him out, his doors are always open to him.
Back at the Mathur house, the siblings return home. Mom is thrilled to see her daughter alive and well, and praises Ravi for helping her. Dad's not too thrilled about it, and says that he has no choice but to arrest Ravi for what he did. Ravi says that he has no respect for a system that can't help his sister. Mathur tells him he is taking Ravi to jail right now, and actually holds his pistol to Ravi's head! At this point Mom and Divya speak up and tell Mathur to knock it off.
Mathur is distracted by all the talking and Ravi grabs the gun. He points it at Mathur and says that he has forgotten what it means to be a father. However, Ravi knows what it means to be a son, so he hands the gun to his mother and leaves the house. Mathur moves to follow him, but Mom holds the gun to her head and says that if Mathur goes after Ravi, she'll shoot herself!
