The
family is outraged at Rajesh's behavior. Grandpa asks why he's getting irate
over every trifling matter that comes up, and tells him he should see a doctor.
Meanwhile, Raju smirks at him from the balcony while menacing drums pound on the
soundtrack. Bunty goes outside to sulk with his broken guitar. Raju finds him
sitting on a bench, and asks how the song went. Bunty makes it clear that Rajesh
did not appreciate his music. Raju tells Bunty that he thinks this is some
conspiracy to keep Bunty from becoming a famous musician. For if he did that, he
would not be able to take over the family business. Bunty is aghast, but thinks
Raju may be right. He wonders what he should do. Good thing Bunty has Raju there
to offer advice. Raju tells him he should go inside and demand his share of the
family's wealth so that he can go out and produce an album. Raju spends a few
minutes psyching Bunty up for his confrontation, then sends him inside.
We
watch from a distance and enjoy some scenic views of the house. Suddenly our
peaceful moment is shattered by the sounds of someone being slapped fiercely.
Care to take bets? Sure enough, we see Rajesh chasing Bunty out of the house and
slapping him quite hard as Bunty tells him he's changed his mind. We leave this
scene surprisingly unresolved and have a jump cut to Robin's office, where
Rajesh is telling him about what happened. Robin suggests that he get this
situation under control before the rest of the family rebels like Bunty has.
Rajesh jokingly says that if this keeps up he's going to just have to kill Raju.
Robin says that some of his clients will do anything for money, so they might be
able to arrange that. Rajesh doesn't want to have him killed, so Robin offers to
just have him beaten up. Rajesh still doesn't feel comfortable doing this, but
Robin talks him into it by reminding him of how much damage Raju is causing for
both of their families. He tells Rajesh to give him a picture of Raju so he can
give it to some of his "clients."
We see Rajesh gloating as he cuts a picture of Raju out of a group photograph while the happy strains of "Carbon Copy" play again. He comments on how nice his family looks without him in it.
This whole segment is another good example of how confused this movie is. Here we are with two respectable professionals about to hire a thug to assault the blood relative of one of them. As they make their plans, happy dance music plays. It's just weird. Either be a revenge movie, or be a comedy. It's not doing a good job of either at this point.
Rajesh calls Bunty in to deliver the picture to Robin, and not to tell anyone about it, as it's a "family secret." Bunty enthusiastically agrees. As he is leaving, he is intercepted by Raju. Raju gets the details out of him in record time. He tells Bunty that if this is to be a family secret, then he shouldn't carry the picture openly - he'll need an envelope. Bunty thanks him as Raju goes off (with the picture) to get the envelope.
We
see Robin giving the envelope to his thug of choice (those of you with sharp
eyes will notice this guy was one of Salman Khan's underground fighting
tournament opponents in
Karan Arjun). The guy opens it up and takes out a picture of Rajesh!
Robin can't see the picture from where he's standing. He tells him that he wants
him beaten up because he is romancing his daughter. The thug can't believe what
he's hearing, but a job's a job. He takes the money and goes off to complete his
task.
The next day we see Bunty and Rajesh going for a jog in the park. Rajesh is chastising Bunty for being so heavy and out of shape. In his exhaustion, Bunty falls down and tries to catch his breath while Rajesh runs on ahead. The hired goon sees him running and goes off to chase him. He starts a fight with Rajesh and begins beating him up right there in the open. Bunty sees this happening and starts to get up to help his father, but realizes that he's no match for the hired goon.
Lucky
for Rajesh, Raju happens to be there to help him. Raju asks the goon what soap
he uses, and somehow that starts the fight. I'll have to be careful what I say
in the Laundromat. The fight goes on for some time, with Raju dominating the
action for the whole thing. Raju finally gets him in a headlock and is slowly
choking him when Grandpa comes over out of nowhere. Rajesh tries to get him to
let the goon go before any of the plans can be revealed, but Grandpa won't let
him leave. He asks the goon how much he was paid to attack Rajesh. When he tells
him, Grandpa offers him double to tell him who sent him. Being the enterprising
businessman that he is, the goon happily tells him that Robin sent him. Grandpa
is astonished at this news, and takes the whole group over to see Robin right
away.
