Raju winds down his song as he approaches the building hosting his father's award ceremony. As he heads inside he is stopped by the ushers who ask to see his invitation. Raju stammers and looks at a loss for a moment, then notices Sonia coming into the entryway. He tells them he is with her, and takes her invitation to give to the doorman. Sonia is none too pleased by this and protests, but they both get in anyway.

I'm a little confused by the elapsed time here. Raju is wearing the same clothes he had on as he got off the plane, and is in fact still carrying his bag. Sonia however has had time to go home, completely change her clothes to a formal evening gown, and get to the hall at the same time. Weird!

Sonia acts as if she doesn't know who Raju is. He playfully reminds her that she tried to hire him as a porter, and she jokingly asks if they're even now. They formally introduce themselves, and Sonia seems to be a little taken with Raju. Before things can progress with these two, we hear the ceremony is about to begin. Sonia takes her leave of Raju and goes inside.

Rajesh Mittal takes to the podium and begins to explain to the audience that he couldn't have reached his position without the help of his loving family. He calls his father, Purushottham Mittal up onto the stage. We see Raju thinking to himself about how this just keeps getting better - he also has a grandfather! Rajesh begins the "behind every successful man, there is a woman" speech, and Raju gets teary-eyed. However, his moment is about to go sour. Rajesh calls his wife Smita up to the podium to be recognized. Raju can't help but notice that Smita is in fact not his mother. Rajesh goes on to call up his children, Rinkie and Bunty. The whole family happily poses for some pictures while Raju fumes in the back of the room.

We get our last credit as Raju turns towards the camera and stalks out of the room looking extremely pissed off.

We find Raju in what looks to be a food court at a mall. He's talking to a picture of his mother again, only this time she's in his wallet. He explains to her that Rajesh forgot them both a long time ago, and that he was no husband to her nor a father to him. As he's doing this, two ne'er-do-wells are looking at him from a short distance away. They make their move, and grab the wallet from Raju. This is not the day to be messing with Raju, as they are soon to find out.

Raju picks up the chair he was sitting in and throws it at the man with his wallet. The man is knocked to the floor where Raju delivers a swift kick to his groin. This doesn't slow the crook down as much as one might think, and he climbs to his feet. He presents a large knife and begins to taunt Raju to try to take his wallet back. As the crook is about to swing the knife at Raju, his arm is caught by a surprise third party. Much to his dismay, it's Sanjay Dutt in the first of two cameo appearances!

Those of you who have been with me for a while will recognize Mr. Dutt from his previous appearances in Khal Nayak, Jung, and Dushman.
